Harvey Milk/TWLOHA.
When I gave my first two speeches in speech class, I choose topics that meant a lot to me personally. I feel that when I got in front of the class I was way more nervous than I should have been. When I told my narrative (shortened version of the TWLOHA story) I went up there and lost all the nerve that I had thought I had. I had note cards, and realized that they were what I directed all of my attention on in an attempt to calm myself, all that did was cause me to studder. Then when I gave my interpretive speech on Harvey Milk's final speech, I decided that looking at the computer for an aide would work better. It did for the most part, but I did not get to connect with my audience in the way that I should have with such an emotional speech.
